Remarks According to the memoirs of Frank Monan, Co. A 331st, 2nd. Lt. Herschel E Bailey joined Co. A on July 9th, 1944 and was a Platoon leader for Company A.

The morning report confirms this. Second Lieutenant Bailey was a member of A Company. The morning report for July 11, 1944 on page 16 lists him joining the unit from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on July 9, 1944. The same page lists him killed in action on July 10, 1944.
