Remarks | The 331st Casualty Report (page 2, #48) for 1944 lists Private First Class Hooks as member of A Co.
The morning report confirms this. Private First Class Hooks was a member of A Company. The morning report for July 22, 1944 on page 42, 43 and 44 lists him joining the unit from the 48th Replacement Battalion on July 20, 1944 while holding the rank of Private. The morning report for August 12, 1944 on page 20 lists him as lightly wounded in action and transferred to the 104th Evacuation Hospital on August 11, 1944. The pages can be seen below. Since have no later documents we assume that Private First Class Hooks died while serving in A Company. |
