The morning report for October 3, 1944 on page 3 lists him as severely wounded action and transferred to the 30th Field Hospital on October 2, 1944. Page 7 of the same morning report changes his status from severly wounded in action to died of wounds on October 6, 1944. Page 3 and 7 can be seen here as well.
