Page 63, for July 29, 1944, shows him rejoining his unit. The morning report for August 13, 1944 on page 22 shows his status changed to Killed in Action per August 7, 1944. The relevant pages can be seen below. General Order 18 lists his commendation for a Purple Heart for wounds received in action on July 28, 1944. The morning reports confirm that he was actually wounded on July 25, 1944.
