Newspapers

During the war several newspapers were published within the 83rd Infantry Division. On this page several issues of the following newspapers can be found:

  • Spearhead newspaper
  • Thunderbolt newspaper
  • The TTF newspaper

These newspapers are the courtesy of Frank DeCarolis, 2nd Platoon, Co. E, 331st Infantry, Tom DePiano and of the Estate of the Late Corporal Jair (Jerry) Kaplan (1919-1986), MP Interpreter, 330th HQ and where photographed and not scanned due to fragility. Spearhead

The initial name for the 83rd newspaper was 'Spearhead'.

After a contest written out in the 'Spearhead' the name Thunderbolt was chosen for the 83rd newspaper.
